It’s simple! Here’s how to turn on your Geolocation, based on the device you’re using!

You do not need to be Canadian to play, however you must be in the province of Ontario at the time of play. More information on how residents of other countries can claim prizes can be found here.
First, make sure you have location services turned on and allow OLG.ca to use your location. This is the easiest way for your location to be accurately identified and allows more internet connections to be successful.
We may not be able to accurately identify your location if you are using a VPN, satellite, microwave connection or being dynamically provided by a Quebec based internet service provider.

There is a requirement to confirm that our players are located in Ontario at the time of gaming. This is separate from confirming the residency or identity of our players.

OLG uses a combination of location services and IP geolocation to determine if you are in Ontario. Location services refers to using your device’s location through, for example, GPS. This is similar to when a website asks to use your location. This is the main technology used however, sometimes location services may not be available or a Player’s device does not have the option available. In this case, IP geolocation technology is used. The technology uses the Internet Protocol (IP) address of your device's Internet connection to determine your location.

If you need to turn on your location services, you will receive a pop-up on the app asking if you would like to allow OLG to access your device’s location. Choose “While using the app” or “only this time” before logging in. If not, you can turn on your locations by going to your phone’s settings.
For Android users
- Go to Settings > Apps
- Choose “OLG” App
- Go to Permissions > Location
- Under ‘Location Access for this App’, select ‘Allow only while using the app’ or ‘Ask every time’
- Reopen the app to see if location services are now enabled.
For iOS users
- Go to Settings > Privacy, then select Location Services.
- Select “OLG” App
- Under ‘Allow Location Access’, select ‘While Using the App’
- Reopen the app to see if location services are now enabled.
